What happened: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has reached 1,000 career regular-season wins, doing so faster than any manager in Major League Baseball history. Los Angeles marked the milestone after a 9-3 win over the Athletics. Roberts waved his cap to the home crowd in acknowledgment of the achievement.

Why it matters: The mark cements Roberts among the most successful managers of his era and underscores the sustained dominance of the Dodgers under his leadership. Reaching 1,000 wins faster than anyone before him reflects both his win rate and the consistency of the rosters he has guided. It adds another layer to a tenure already defined by division titles and deep October runs.

What to watch: Attention turns to how high Roberts can climb the all-time wins ladder and whether this Dodgers club converts regular-season success into another postseason push.
