Throwing it back to when @davidortiz made the Yankees think he was going to bunt 😆 @derekjeter couldn't help but to laug Via @FOXSports on X

What happened: David Ortiz once squared to bunt against the New York Yankees before pulling back. Derek Jeter laughed from shortstop as the infield adjusted.

Why it matters: Ortiz made his name punishing New York with power, which made the small-ball posture an absurd contrast. The exchange endures because that rivalry shaped October baseball for a generation.

What to watch: New York continues through the 2026 postseason with its catching review ahead.
