What happened: Josue De Paula reached on a walk after an automated ball-strike review upheld the call, then stole his first career base in the majors. The sequence turned plate discipline into an immediate extra 90 feet and drew Juan Soto comparisons.

Why it matters: For De Paula, it is another early benchmark after his first major league home run on Sept. 13. The blend of patience and speed gives him another way to contribute as his major league role settles in.

What to watch: Watch whether De Paula keeps creating chances with walks as well as power in his next few appearances. More trips on base will show how much of his game on the bases carries over right away.
