What happened: Arizona's possible lineup targets include Jake McCarthy, Kody Clemens, Nolan Schanuel, Carson Benge, Jo Adell and Tyrone Taylor. Hunter Greene, Reid Detmers, Freddy Peralta, Clay Holmes and Casey Mize are among the starting-pitching options.

Why it matters: Limited draft capital and payroll room narrow the range of workable acquisitions. Arizona prefers a left-handed or switch-hitting bat, though right-handed options remain possible.

What to watch: Watch whether Arizona adds a bat, a starter or both before Monday.
