What happened: The Stein Line joined DLLS Sports for a live hoops discussion in its downtown studio. Dallas has held early-stage talks with Dereck Lively II on a possible extension.

Why it matters: A new deal would give the Mavericks cost certainty beyond the upcoming season. Lively's recent availability adds risk to the long-term decision.

What to watch: Dallas can negotiate an extension through Opening Night Eve.
