What happened: Tyrese Maxey connected on multiple perimeter jumpers down the stretch during Wednesday night's national ESPN broadcast, prompting the veteran play-by-play announcer's trademark punctuation.

Why it matters: The late-game shooting extends an award-winning opening week to the 2025-26 regular season for Maxey, who captured the Eastern Conference's first Player of the Week honor entering Wednesday's showcase. His two-way surge and fourth-quarter shotmaking have set the pace since the October 20 season opener.

What to watch: Maxey continues his regular-season slate following Wednesday night's national television appearance.
