Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Aug 101 min read

What happened: Fabian Ardaya reported the move after Los Angeles acquired Halvorsen from Colorado at the MLB trade deadline. The right-hander routinely throws 100 mph.

Why it matters: Walks have been an issue throughout Halvorsen's third MLB season. His promotion gives the Dodgers another middle-inning bullpen option.

By the numbers: Halvorsen allowed no runs and four hits while striking out eight over 6 1/3 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

What to watch: Halvorsen's initial role and command will bear watching after the promotion.
