What happened: The Miami Dolphins activated defensive lineman Kenneth Grant from the injured reserve list and waived quarterback Brady Cook.

Why it matters: The transaction bolsters Miami's defensive front as Grant rejoins the active roster. Cook's departure ends his brief stint with the team after Miami claimed him off waivers in August.

By the numbers: Grant recorded 33 tackles and two sacks in 17 games as a rookie in 2025. Cook completed 88 of 153 passes for 739 yards with two touchdowns and seven interceptions in five games with the Jets last season.

What to watch: Grant is eligible to make his 2026 season debut. Cook will be subject to the waiver wire.
