BREAKING: DOLPHINS HAVE THEIR FIRST LEAD OF THE SEASON 💥 🤯 https://t.co/1fw3e4hZNp Via @NFLonCBS on X

What happened: The Miami Dolphins opened a 7-0 advantage over the New York Jets on Sunday, marking the franchise's first lead at any point during the 2026 regular season. Kicker Zane Gonzalez accounted for his first point of the afternoon on the opening touchdown drive with the game in progress.

Why it matters: Miami entered Sunday having not held a lead at any point this season across an 0-5 start that placed the club at seed 15 on a five-game skid. The Dolphins returned from their bye week and elevated Gonzalez to the active roster following a 24-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 11.

By the numbers: Score: Miami Dolphins 7, New York Jets 0 (in progress). Zane Gonzalez: 1 PTS. Miami Dolphins record entering Sunday: 0-5 (streak L5, seed 15); prior game: lost 24-31 vs. Cincinnati Bengals (2026-10-11).

What to watch: Miami looks to protect its early margin through the remainder of Sunday's divisional matchup in New York.
