What happened: Draymond Green dismissed the idea that Yaxel Lendeborg "learned his lesson" after trading words with Luka Doncic in the season opener, telling the rookie to go right back at him the next time they meet. Lendeborg said postgame that he lost all respect for Doncic after facing him because Doncic complained throughout the night.

Why it matters: Drawing a primary assignment against an elite scorer in a debut tests a rookie's poise immediately, especially when whistle trouble mounts early. Green publicly endorsing Lendeborg's physical edge signals that the veteran leadership wants the newcomer to stay aggressive rather than play tentatively to avoid fouls.

What to watch: How Lendeborg balances physical perimeter defense with foul discipline will dictate his early-season rotation minutes.
