What happened: The Atlanta Dream lead the Washington Mystics 41-32 at halftime. Rhyne Howard paces Atlanta with 12 points, four steals, three assists and two made threes, while Allisha Gray and Shakira Austin have added 11 points apiece. Alicia Florez has chipped in five points, four rebounds and three assists off the supporting cast.

Why it matters: The result carries standings weight in a tight Eastern race, with Atlanta entering the night at 13-8 and Washington sitting at 10-10 and fighting to stay above .500. Howard has been the engine of Atlanta's season, and her first-half stat line reinforces the All-Star case the Dream have built around her.

What to watch: The second half tips on League Pass, with Washington needing a defensive answer to Howard and Atlanta's balanced scoring to climb back into it.
