Hey @MLB, we found your Pitcher of the Month. Dylan Cease has a 1.00 ERA in July 😤 https://t.co/hJ7XimfyuA Via @BlueJays on X

What happened: Cease finished July 25 with a complete-game, one-hit shutout and 12 strikeouts in a 6-0 win. The Blue Jays urged MLB to name him Pitcher of the Month.

Why it matters: The surge followed Cease's start for the American League in the All-Star Game. Toronto stood 48-58 after July 26, putting his run against the backdrop of a difficult season.

By the numbers: Cease allowed one hit, struck out 12 and walked none over 120 pitches in his final July start.

What to watch: MLB's July Pitcher of the Month decision is next.
