Eagles rule OT Lane Johnson inactive against Rams

Markel Bell to start at right tackle for Philadelphia

What happened: Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson was downgraded to inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams due to personal reasons. With Fred Johnson already ruled out with a knee injury, the team will turn to Markel Bell to step into the starting lineup.

Why it matters: The late scratch leaves Philadelphia extremely thin in the trenches, with only Willie Lampkin and Micah Morris available as offensive line reserves. It compounds a difficult roster situation for the Eagles, who are also playing without Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Zack Baun, and Marcus Epps.

By the numbers: Philadelphia is 18-29 historically without Johnson in the lineup. The Eagles enter the contest at 2-4 and are against the 4-2 Rams.

What to watch: Los Angeles will be without defensive tackle Aaron Donald, but the Rams welcome back wide receiver Puka Nacua after a two-game absence.
