What happened: Smith's hamstring issue carried into the weekend after his availability worsened over the last two days. The final designation closes the door on a return for Philadelphia's Week 4 meeting with Los Angeles.

Why it matters: The absence thins Philadelphia's receiver group for a cross-conference matchup. It also turns an earlier doubtful outlook into a firm scratch heading into Sunday.

What to watch: Philadelphia's inactive list Sunday will show how the Eagles redistribute Smith's snaps against Los Angeles. His practice status next week will shape whether this remains a one-game absence.
