What happened: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will miss Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys after sitting out practice all week with a hamstring injury, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Smith played in Week 6 following an injury designation alongside Dontayvion Wicks, but he was absent from Saturday's session.

Why it matters: Smith's absence leaves Philadelphia shorthanded at wide receiver with Wicks also dealing with an ankle injury after missing the start of Saturday's practice. First-round rookie Makai Lemon, drafted 20th overall out of USC, and second-year wideout Darius Cooper step into primary roles in the passing attack. Both NFC East clubs enter Monday night at 2-4, with the 11th-seeded Eagles seeking to halt a four-game skid and the 12th-seeded Cowboys looking to rebound from consecutive losses.

By the numbers: Philadelphia (2-4, L4) and Dallas (2-4, L2) sit 11th and 12th in the conference standings entering Week 7 after the Eagles lost 25-14 to the Carolina Panthers and the Cowboys fell 23-13 at the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 18.

What to watch: Philadelphia and Dallas meet on Monday Night Football to close Week 7, with pregame inactives set to finalize Wicks' availability alongside Lemon and Cooper.
