What happened: Buffalo is playing without Ed Oliver after the defensive tackle was ruled out with a hip injury before kickoff. The Bills led the Detroit Lions 14-0 at the last update.

Why it matters: Oliver's absence changes Buffalo's defensive front while it protects a 14-0 margin. The matchup also serves as the new Highmark Stadium christening on Thursday Night Football.

What to watch: Next, Buffalo's defense has to hold the line without Oliver available. Detroit's next offensive stretch will decide whether the 14-0 score starts to shift.
