What happened: Simon Edvinsson reportedly informed the club he would rather be moved than sign an extension. The sides have stopped talking with preseason underway for 2026-27.

Why it matters: The absence removes a 6-foot-6 defender from camp plans entering 2026-27. The restricted-free-agent tag preserves club control while a move remains the stated preference.

What to watch: Watch whether the front office re-engages on an extension or opens trade talks before camp rosters set.
