What happened: Incoming Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has identified Atalanta right-back Marco Palestra as a priority target ahead of his official appointment at the Etihad. City is reportedly ready to meet the €50 million asking price after Atalanta rejected a lower bid from Inter Milan.

Why it matters: Maresca views the 21-year-old Italian international as a vital component for his tactical transition following Pep Guardiola's departure. The move signals City's intent to lower the squad's average age while securing one of Serie A's most promising defensive prospects to replace aging depth on the flank.

What to watch: Expect Manchester City to formalize the offer once Maresca's three-year deal is officially confirmed by the club.
