What happened: Germany manager Jurgen Klopp left forward Karim Adeyemi out of the national squad for November's UEFA Nations League fixtures. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, currently on loan at Ajax from Barcelona, earned selection to the roster.

Why it matters: Adeyemi had featured under Klopp in September after moving from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona, but a seven-match goal drought across all competitions preceded the omission. Ter Stegen, favored to claim Germany's starting job following Manuel Neuer's international retirement, was previously included alongside Adeyemi in the squad and retains his place.

By the numbers: 7: Consecutive appearances without a goal for Adeyemi across all competitions with Barcelona.

What to watch: Germany visits Serbia on Nov. 13 before hosting the Netherlands on Nov. 16 to conclude Nations League group play.
