What happened: Everton lead 1-0 at halftime against Chelsea in Premier League at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Beto opened scoring in the 33rd minute with a chip over the keeper after James Garner's assist. Jordan Pickford made a stunning save to deny Chelsea an equalizer.

Why it matters: Chelsea risk a fourth straight defeat across competitions amid defensive woes and injuries, threatening top-four position. Everton have won seven of last eight PL games vs Chelsea when scoring first. Victory would be Toffees' first PL win over Blues since December 2023 and first at new stadium.

By the numbers: HT Stats: Everton 1-0 Chelsea (Possession: 46%-54%); Goal: Beto 33'; Key Save: Pickford on Enzo Fernández. Historical: Chelsea 1W-3D-3L in 7 PL games trailing HT this season; Everton 7W-1D vs Chelsea when first scorers (last 8 PL). Chelsea Injuries: Chalobah (6wks ankle), James (hamstring), Jörgensen (groin).

What to watch: Monitor Chelsea's second-half response under Liam Rosenior for potential comeback; Everton aim to extend lead and secure statement win.
