What happened: Formula 1 finalized a global licensing agreement with Leica Camera for the Q3 43 Formula 1 Edition. The variant pairs a 60-megapixel full-frame sensor with a fixed 43mm APO-Summicron f/2 lens and adds carbon-fiber construction with a steering-wheel-inspired grip.

Why it matters: It is the first product from the new partnership between the championship and the German camera maker. The launch extends F1 lifestyle merchandising into luxury goods, with additional special editions planned.

By the numbers: Price: $9,950; sensor: 60-megapixel full-frame; lens: 43mm APO-Summicron f/2.

What to watch: Leica says more limited and special editions will follow this release.
