Joel Faglier planned to weather Javad Mahjoub’s early storm at UFC Edmonton https://t.co/OJRMYjPOIh Via @MMAJunkie on X

What happened: Joel Faglier said his game plan centered on surviving Javad Mahjoub's opening pressure. Mahjoub dropped him multiple times in the first round before Faglier answered with a second-round TKO at 2:11.

Why it matters: The win keeps Faglier unbeaten as a heavyweight prospect in a division short on new contenders. Faglier's comeback also showed durability after taking clean early damage.

By the numbers: Faglier 7-0-0, KO/TKO R2 2:11; Heavyweight; Mahjoub absorbed the late stoppage after scoring multiple first-round knockdowns.

What to watch: UFC matchmaking will determine whether Faglier draws a ranked opponent next. Mahjoub faces a reset after losing a fight he controlled early.
