What happened: The Atlanta Falcons have signed defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell, according to agent Hector Ruiz. Maxwell moves to the NFL after a productive 2026 campaign with the DC Defenders of the UFL.

Why it matters: Atlanta is overhauling its interior defensive line under new coordinator Jeff Ulbrich following the departure of David Onyemata. Maxwell provides much-needed rotational depth and is part of a wave of UFL stars sparking NFL interest following the conclusion of the spring season.

By the numbers: In 10 games for the Defenders in 2026, Maxwell recorded 23 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks. He also tallied 14 QB pressures and 20 defensive stops, emerging as one of the UFL's most disruptive interior defenders.

What to watch: Maxwell will compete for a spot in the Falcons' interior rotation during training camp as the team finalizes its 53-man roster for the 2026 season.
