What happened: Bruce Feldman highlighted the 25th anniversary of Miami's 2001 national championship season, reflecting on the program's undefeated campaign. The milestone commemorates a squad that went 12-0 and won the Rose Bowl BCS National Championship Game.

Why it matters: The retrospective arrives as Miami opened at No. 1 in the first CFP rankings for the first time in program history. That 2001 roster remains the championship benchmark for the current team during its pursuit of a national title.

What to watch: The Hurricanes visit No. 11 Notre Dame this week to defend their top ranking.
