What happened: Ferrari called Lewis Hamilton in for a set of soft tyres at the São Paulo Grand Prix, after he asked over the radio to come in for slicks. Hamilton had asked twice, telling the pit wall "I wanna come in soon for some slick tyres" and later "Can I come in now or not?

Why it matters: The stop is a read on how ready the track is for slicks, and Hamilton's request put the call on the pit wall during his 400th Grand Prix. Ferrari trails Mercedes by 126 points in the standings.

By the numbers: Hamilton started with a 10-place grid penalty for exceeding the season limit of four engines. Teammate Charles Leclerc took the same penalty.

What to watch: Watch whether the soft tyres hold up and whether Ferrari's rivals follow the tyre call.
