What happened: Jake Bauers' former 2023 New York Yankees hitting coach detailed on MLB Tonight how mental adjustments propelled the hitter to the best season of his career. That approach carried into October, where Bauers earned NLCS MVP honors for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Why it matters: The breakdown connects Bauers' work in New York three years ago to his current postseason production in the middle of Milwaukee's lineup. His plate discipline and approach helped the Brewers capture their first National League pennant since 1982.

By the numbers: Bauers batted .286 with one home run and 6 RBIs during his NLCS MVP run.

What to watch: Bauers and the Brewers now advance to the World Series.
