What happened: During a segment on That's Hockey, Frank Corrado sparked a discussion about Evan Bouchard's profile among fans. The broadcast highlighted how the blueliner remains overlooked nationally.

Why it matters: He has delivered a dominant exhibition run, scoring his sixth goal in a recent 5-2 win. Observers are questioning if his offensive surge stems from Mike Babcock's new system.

By the numbers: Bouchard opened the preseason schedule with a hat trick, becoming the first defenseman to accomplish the feat in an opener since 1980.

What to watch: Bouchard will look to carry that momentum into the 2026-27 regular season.
