Gabby Williams is a beast on defense 😈 #FIBAWWC https://t.co/0xtgNN6V52 Via @FIBAWWC on X

What happened: Gabby Williams finished the Berlin tournament about a month ago in a defense-first role. She was named to the 2026 WNBA All-Defensive First Team.

Why it matters: Perimeter stops carry over between FIBA play and the WNBA postseason. Defensive versatility decides late-game matchups and rotation trust.

What to watch: The WNBA Finals open October 17 with Atlanta in the field.
