What happened: Moreno took home the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award at catcher on Monday after previously winning the batting title this season. The honor makes him only the second catcher in Major League Baseball history to claim both accolades in the same year, alongside Mauer's dual wins in 2008 and 2009.

Why it matters: The achievement underscores Moreno's elite two-way production after his bat pushed him into MLB's top tier during his breakout campaign. Handling everyday defensive responsibilities while leading the league at the plate remains one of the rarest feats in baseball history.

What to watch: Major League Baseball will continue rolling out its remaining postseason honors throughout the week, culminating in the MVP announcements.
