What happened: Corbin Carroll won his first career Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Monday, taking home the National League honor in right field for the 2026 season. The announcement marks the outfielder's first major defensive accolade in Major League Baseball.

Why it matters: The award cements Carroll's complete skillset after becoming the first player to repeat a 20-homer, 20-steal, and 15-triple campaign earlier this fall. His defensive breakthrough validates his everyday transition to right field while anchoring the outfield defense moving forward.

What to watch: Major League Baseball will announce the remaining postseason awards, including the Platinum Glove and MVP honors, later this month.
