What happened: Catcher Gabriel Moreno launched a decisive two-run home run into the left-field bullpen to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-1 victory over the Washington Nationals. The blast supported seven strong innings from Michael Soroka, who improved his season record to 8-3.

Why it matters: The win prevents a series sweep and keeps Arizona firmly in the NL West race, trailing the first-place Dodgers by 7.5 games. Moreno continues to show improved power after returning from an early-season oblique strain that sidelined him for 16 games.

What to watch: Arizona begins a three-game road series against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, looking to build momentum on their current road trip.
