What happened: Giannis Antetokounmpo leads all scorers with a game-high 21 points in the opening half of his regular-season debut for the Miami Heat, drawing early MVP chants from the home crowd. Despite his scoring pace, the Heat trail the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves 69-59 with the game in progress.

Why it matters: The regular-season opener marks Antetokounmpo's first official appearance as the focal point of Miami's offense following his preseason tune-up. Erasing Minnesota's early cushion while play continues will require the Heat to pair his interior scoring with tighter half-court defense.

What to watch: Action continues in Miami as the Heat look to trim their 69-59 deficit against the Timberwolves in the second half.
