What happened: SB Nation outlined pre-deadline trade scenarios connecting the New York Giants to Jacksonville Jaguars receiving depth after Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, Brenton Strange, Josh Cameron, and Travis Hunter crowded the Jaguars' pass-catching rotation. New York needs another perimeter option alongside Malik Nabers and Malachi Fields, while the Pittsburgh Steelers could target slot help from the Washington Commanders to complement outside wideouts DK Metcalf and Germie Bernard. The Green Bay Packers are also projected to pursue edge-rush help alongside Micah Parsons as the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers weigh deadline moves.

Why it matters: Adding a proven receiver in New York would aid the Giants' quarterback evaluation between J.J. McCarthy and Jaxson Dart, who is on injured reserve following surgery to repair the meniscus and MCL in his left knee. Roster attrition has created immediate lineup gaps in Pittsburgh and Green Bay after the Steelers placed Roman Wilson on injured reserve with a finger injury and the Packers placed Edgerrin Cooper on injured reserve with an Achilles injury while Micah Parsons remains on the PUP-R list with a knee issue. Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders face seller pressure amid health questions surrounding quarterback Jayden Daniels, and Jacksonville holds receiver surplus after Travis Hunter contributed on both offense and defense against the Houston Texans.

What to watch: NFL front offices have until the Tuesday trade deadline following the upcoming midseason slate to finalize roster moves. How the Giants, Steelers, Packers, and Bears navigate their injured reserve absences will determine how aggressively they pursue veteran reinforcements.
