What happened: Skyler Gill-Howard beat Melvin Priestly and Michael Niese in pass-rush drills before earning late snaps with the first-team defense. Jahmyr Gibbs found daylight behind blocks from Tate Ratledge, Blake Miller and Miles Frazier despite backfield penetration by Tyleik Williams.

Why it matters: The extra work gave Gill-Howard a chance to strengthen his roster case after a slow start to camp. Gibbs' explosiveness remains central to Detroit's offense after his three-year extension worth up to $75.75 million.

What to watch: Detroit's next padded work will offer a firmer test of Gill-Howard's progress and the run game's blocking.
