What happened: On Gils Arena, Gilbert Arenas said Minnesota rolled past New York by 18 on Monday in preseason play. Anthony Edwards scored a game-high 26 points in 25 minutes, including 20 in the first half. Jaden McDaniels added 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

Why it matters: Arenas said coach Chris Finch credited the shift to Ball and Edwards bringing daily joy after two moody seasons. The hosts argued Ball's pass-first play gives Edwards a reliable target and changes Minnesota's offensive flow.

By the numbers: Edwards: 26 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 5-of-8 from three. McDaniels: 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Ball: 10 points, 7 assists, 5 turnovers. Minnesota shot 55% from the field and 63% from three in the first half, hit 18 threes and moved to 3-1 in preseason.

What to watch: Minnesota continues preseason play with opening week one week out. The show will track whether the starting group's shooting and ball movement carry over.
