What happened: Jared Goff has completed 168 of 248 passes for 1,964 yards, 15 touchdowns and 1 interception in 2026 through 7 games. Minnesota blitzed on 26 of 29 dropbacks (89.7%) against him, the highest rate by any team since at least 2018. Goff threw for 130 yards, a touchdown and an interception in that game, per Next Gen Stats.

Why it matters: Against that record blitz rate, his 17 completions tied for the most against the blitz in a game this season. It follows Goff's 8 touchdown passes against the blitz, which tied him for the league lead with Brock Purdy.

By the numbers: 2026 through 7 games: 168-of-248 (67.7%), 1,964 yards, 15 TD, 1 INT, 7.9 yards per attempt. The Next Gen Stats blitz-rate record dates to at least 2018.

What to watch: Defenses that send extra rushers at him have little to show for it so far.
