Jet Greaves and Pheonix Copley teamed up for the shutout! But this stop by Pheonix in the shootout earned him the @ADS

What happened: Jet Greaves handled the opening workload and stopped all 16 shots he faced. Pheonix Copley took over for the third period and the shootout to preserve the shutout. His shootout stop earned Save of the Game honors.

Why it matters: The combined shutout opened the preseason with a live look at depth behind Greaves. Columbus added Cam Talbot on a one-year deal with Elvis Merzlikins out. Preseason shootout work gives the staff an early comparison point for reserve net minutes.

By the numbers: Greaves: 16 saves on 16 shots. Final: 1-0 shootout win. Combined shutout across regulation and the shootout.

What to watch: Columbus continues the preseason slate with a trip to Buffalo. The next goaltending split will show how the rotation is shaping.
