Greg's top breakout players for 2026: DH: Liam Hicks C: Dillon Dingler 1B: Luis Garcia Jr. 2B: Nick Gonzales 3B: Miguel Via @MLBNetwork on X

What happened: At DH, Greg chose Liam Hicks, followed by Dillon Dingler at catcher and Luis Garcia Jr., Nick Gonzales, Miguel Vargas and Otto Lopez across the infield. Jordan Walker, Jake Bauers and Jac Caglianone occupy the three outfield slots.

Why it matters: Dingler, Hicks, Vargas and Walker have each drawn attention during the season for improved production. The stretch run offers the remaining five selections time to strengthen their breakout cases.

By the numbers: The group consists of four infielders, three outfielders, one catcher and one designated hitter.

What to watch: Season-ending results will determine which picks finish 2026 as true breakouts.
