What happened: ESPN's Pete Thamel reports that Hardy is alert and moving today, with sources expressing optimism that he will play football again. The speed of his return and the broader impact remain unknown at this time. No further on-field details have been confirmed by the source.

Why it matters: The update is a significant positive signal following a frightening situation, shifting the conversation from worst-case outcomes to a recovery timeline. For a player whose status has driven concern across the sport, any indication of a path back to the field reframes both the personal and competitive stakes. Prior wire.report coverage tracked the early hours of this same recovery thread.

What to watch: Watch for an official medical update or team statement clarifying Hardy's condition and projected recovery window. Subsequent reporting from Thamel or the team will likely set expectations on a football return.
