What happened: Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson will undergo shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the 2026 season, head coach Sean McVay announced Wednesday. The procedure ends Watson's campaign after seven appearances in his first year with the franchise.

Why it matters: Watson joined Los Angeles on a three-year, $51 million contract this past offseason to secure the perimeter secondary. The injury leaves a significant void in coverage just weeks after McVay praised Watson after his first interception as a Ram.

What to watch: The Rams must adjust their cornerback rotation ahead of their next contest as Watson prepares for surgery.
