What happened: PFF's Week 1 rushing-after-contact leaderboard slotted Derrick Henry second at 104 yards, with Jahmyr Gibbs and Saquon Barkley tied at 82. Henry finished 22 yards ahead of the tie behind him and stood alone among the named runners in triple digits.

Why it matters: Yards after contact is an early measure of how much a runner created once defenders arrived. For Henry, the gap over Gibbs and Barkley keeps his opening-week rushing punch in focus heading into Week 2.

By the numbers: Henry's 104 was 26.8% more than the 82 posted by Gibbs and Barkley. Gibbs and Barkley matched exactly, leaving no separation between them on this slice of Week 1 rushing production.

What to watch: Week 2 will show whether Henry can stay clear of the next tier and whether Gibbs or Barkley can break the tie. Another strong after-contact game would turn this from a one-week note into an early trend.
