Goodman still in position to hit 40 HRs. A herculean accomplishment for a catcher Via @TroyRenck on X

What happened: Goodman connected against Andrew Sears on a 93.7 mph four-seam fastball.

Why it matters: The Colorado Rockies catcher is chasing a 40-homer season, a threshold that would distinguish his production at a demanding defensive position.

By the numbers: Goodman has added three homers since his 35th helped end Colorado's seven-game skid on Aug. 26.

What to watch: Watch whether Goodman reaches the milestone before the regular season ends.
