What happened: Jake McCarthy, Ceddanne Rafaela, Eduardo Rodriguez and Alec Burleson also land in the sell-high group. Their recent production outpaces several underlying contact, power or pitching indicators.

Why it matters: Regression from overperforming players could arrive during the fantasy playoffs. Catcher demand may improve returns for Goodman or Hicks after fantasy managers lost Shea Langeliers, Samuel Basallo or Adley Rutschman.

By the numbers: Goodman carries a .236 expected average against a .256 actual mark, while his expected slugging trails by 77 points. Hicks has three homers in 39 games since June began and an 85.2 mph average exit velocity. McCarthy's expected average trails by 35 points, and Rafaela's .349 expected slugging sits 96 points below his actual mark.

What to watch: Watch whether McCarthy moves by Aug. 3, which could further reduce his fantasy value away from Colorado.
