What happened: Carolina Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake extended his point streak to nine consecutive games. Blake continued his productive stretch as Carolina skated in their alternate sweaters. The scoring surge represents the longest point streak of his NHL career.

Why it matters: Blake's sustained offensive production provides Carolina with consistent scoring depth in the top six during the opening month of the season. His emergence solidifies his role on the Hurricanes' forward lines as the team maintains early-season momentum.

What to watch: Carolina looks to keep Blake's offensive run going as regular-season play continues.
