What happened: Jack Hughes' overtime winner and stick toss from the home opener kept making the rounds Friday after ESPN posted that the celebration looked familiar. The moment had already drawn attention from the NHL's main account after the goal.

Why it matters: The extra traction keeps Hughes in the middle of the early-season hockey conversation a day after the opener. It also shows the goal's aftermath carrying beyond the final horn, giving the highlight a longer shelf life than a standard regular-season finish.

What to watch: Watch whether the celebration keeps resurfacing as Hughes returns to the ice this weekend. Any follow-up from the league or broadcast partners would extend the clip's run beyond opening week.
