What happened: MLB Network spotlighted the outfield matchup for the 2026 World Series, with Jackson Chourio and Chandler Simpson anchoring the opposing groups. For Chourio, the championship berth caps an October surge that already includes a game-tying postseason home run and a Game 2 walk-off blast.

Why it matters: Outfield speed and defensive range take center stage as the 2026 Fall Classic brings two young headliners onto baseball's championship stage. At 22, Chourio already carries proven late-inning postseason production into the series alongside Simpson.

What to watch: Chourio and Simpson will patrol the outfield when the 2026 World Series opens.
