What happened: Scheduled to start Game 1 at home, Jacob Misiorowski said he is bringing fire-type intensity and Charizard's signature fireball move to the mound.

Why it matters: Drawing the opening assignment places the pitcher at the front of the Fall Classic rotation after his NLCS Game 1 nod earlier in October. Keeping a loose demeanor during media availability reflects steady composure before the highest-stakes start of the 2026 postseason.

What to watch: First pitch for Game 1 of the World Series is scheduled for Friday.
