What happened: Baltimore brought back Carl Jones Jr. on Thursday after waiving the second-year linebacker on Oct. 20 and previously waiving him on Sept. 29. Andre James exits the practice squad after a three-week stint that started with his Sept. 30 signing.

Why it matters: Swapping a veteran center for a linebacker shifts the team's reserve depth from the interior offensive line back to defense and special teams. Both players entered the NFL out of UCLA, with James in his eighth pro campaign.

By the numbers: Per ESPN, Jones recorded 12 tackles across 13 games during the 2025 season. James, in his eighth NFL season as of Sept. 29, spent 22 days on Baltimore's practice squad between Sept. 30 and Oct. 22.

What to watch: Jones is eligible for game-day elevations from the practice squad as the 2026 regular season continues, while James hits free agency.
