What happened: Jacksonville sent a 2028 sixth-rounder to Miami for Quinn Ewers, pending a physical. The Jaguars are releasing Nick Mullens after most surveyed fans opposed keeping him as the backup.

Why it matters: The moves put a second-year quarterback behind Trevor Lawrence while ending the veteran option. Jacksonville is trading experience for a longer developmental runway at the position.

What to watch: Ewers’ physical is the next checkpoint before Jacksonville settles its quarterback room for the upcoming season.
