What happened: Ja'Marr Chase stepped to the podium on Thursday, October 22, for his scheduled midweek media session during the 2026 NFL regular season. The availability follows his recovery from an October 5 injury that briefly put his status in question earlier this month.

Why it matters: Routine midweek availability for Chase, one of the league's active catch-streak leaders, underscores stability at the top of the receiver depth chart heading into late October. Drafted out of LSU in the first round in 2021, he anchors the passing attack after recording 125 receptions for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns across 16 games in 2025 (per ESPN, as of September 29, 2026).

By the numbers: As of October 21, 2026, Chase holds the NFL's second-longest active streak of consecutive receptions without a drop at 57, trailing the league lead of 99 and sitting two ahead of third place at 55.

What to watch: Cincinnati continues its Week 8 practice schedule ahead of this weekend's regular-season matchup.
